The atlas was not originally produced as a web document. It was printed in 11" x 17" [tabloid/ledger] landscape format. You do not have to print it this way, or even at all [hence the totally interactive portable document format]. If your printer only handles letter-sized paper, just choose the "shrink to fit" option in your print setup dialog box. I have been told that printing at this size works ok, but much of the text will be hard--but not impossible--to read. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me. As a note, the high-resolution version, available on CD-ROM, will print much better than the lo-res web version.
